Let’s Vinyasa: A Deep Dive into Vinyasa Yoga- Session 1

  • Move Fitness & Yoga 23 Johnston Way Unit A Bluffton, SC, 29910 United States (map)

What is a vinyasa? How low should I be lowering in chaturanga? If you have ever had questions that were left unanswered in a vinyasa yoga class, or are new to the practice and intimidated to start, our Let’s Vinyasa! 2 part series is for you!

Vinyasa is connecting movement with breath. As a new yoga practitioner remembering to breathe while trying out a new pose or an unfamiliar sequence can be a challenge! Join Stasia for (2) 90 minute sessions with an overall goal to alleviate common misunderstandings about vinyasa yoga. We will learn how to find ease in the poses, despite the effort to get there!  Each session will build upon the foundation of what was learned the week before, and as you work on the "flow" of breath to movement, we will hone in on the 'why' behind each inhale and exhale.

This series is perfect for those brand new to the practice, or those who want to dive in a little deeper and really focus on alignment and the reason “why”

Each session will end with a couple of yin poses to relax the body before the final savasana.

Session 1: Brief intro to yoga history, the "Why" behind breath to movement ~ Sun Salutations A, B and B+; Focus on modifications for chaturanga into updog, and overall basic refinement and alignment

Session 2: The basics of vinyasa: Breath, Movement, Bandha’s, and Drishti (focus)

$80 for the series, or $45 each
